This is a solid debut album for TI. Most tracks are listenable, but only a couple are true classics. TI's flow on this album is much more rapid fire - and with this albums lackluster sales, he switched up to his slower draaawl flow - which has got him the big sales.
The best track - esp if you are a true Southern Rap fan - is track 8 "Do It." DJ Toomp has always produced TI's best songs, and this is the one track that I can listen to over and over again.

I read some reviews calling it the best from the south, and I beg to differ. T.I.'s debut album "I'm Serious" is really an above average debut album from him, especially when there were other albums that came out '01 that blew this out of the water. I find his flow to be no different than any other rappers out. He does have that southern accent that is easily heard. Songs like "Do It" and "Dope Boyz" is really nothing special to this listener. Infact, I found a lot of skip material on this album.
There are some good songs on here. A personal favorite of mine would be "What's Yo Name" featuring Pharrell. "Hotel" is a good song that feautres Too $hort as both artists drop nice verses. And the song "I Can't Be Your Man" is good. Everything else on this album is okay, but nothing special like everyone else is saying.
Overall, "I'm Serious" is reall nothing special. This album came out at the right moment when the south was already on the rise. I bought this album back in '01 and my opinion still doesn't change when I hear it today. Yes, after hearing all of his albums (except for T.I. vs T.I.P. which isn't out as of this review), this is his best album and it showed how hungry he was, but it isn't the greatest from the south. Overrated album by an overrated rapper (there I said it!). He might be the king of the south to you, but not to me. Especially when there are artists like Scarface, UGK, Outkast, etc. who have been in the game longer than him. Some people ... Read More

I'm serious is the best T.I. CD yet. His lyrics, the beats, everything is on point. I love the song by him and Beenie man. He shows his true talent and also is creative ability. I would recommend this CD to anyone that is a T.I. fan or anyone who likes rap and is tired of the same old nursery rhyme stuff thats coming out now.

Well, first off, T.I. is my baby, I love him so much. But I do not know why he got 4 childs, that's suck. And he go with Tameka aka Tiny. What eva her name is.

I know that alot will say that Trap Music was his comin out but if u honestly listened 2 this album and do not believe that this album is without a shadow of a doubt a classic then something is wrong it's straight raw and uncut this is T.I. B4 24's and all of the other stuff without I'm Serious there is no Trap Music or Urban Legend the reason he's so successful now is because he paid his dues and he knew that people had no choice but 2 feel him having said that I'm Serious the title says it all
