I read several reviews before I purchased my copy of this concert. The mention of glare ruining the DVD was a bit exaggerated; too many other angle shots salvaged the show. The quality of shots could have been better, but then there's always a drawback to proper angles and exposures in hindsight, when a dry run isn't available in the concert hall to fine tune all the cameras. I found the lighting used more semi-gaudy hues than normally seen.
As for the musical titles, they were a mix of the seldom heard with an established repertoire. What's with "The Blue Danube?" This one is on all three of the Rieu concert DVDs I've purchased to date (this one, plus the concerts in Dublin, Ireland, and his "Homecoming," in Maastrecht, Holland). Besides at least one waltz classic, Rieu adds songs that resonate with the local audience; it's these that are especially enjoyable to hear. His concerts also feature musician antics, which I submit Rieu encourages, and this one is no exception. It accompanied "The Skaters Waltz" and shorter tunes. I did see the first of such antics that I now see have been transferred to later concerts; nice to see the origin of such doings and how the same theme has been altered for more effective presentation.
The closing number on this concert is hard to beat! It's a South American medley that reveals the depth of musical talent that makes up his orchestra. I heartily recommend this DVD for all Rieu fans.

I have played these DVD's of his for so long that I actually think I wear them out. So when that happens I will just order another one.

I was enthralled with Andre Rieu's performance, and his orchestras as well! He is a fine violinist.
He is a showman, has fun, and really connects with the audience.

I LOVE this C.D. I think ANdre Rieu is the greatest musician around. He doesn't turn his back to the audience he brings his entourage and audience together.
